My first weeks in 8Mt

I am part of 8Mt this year, my teacher is called Mr Mitchell. I love being in 8Mt I have a lot of my friends in my class this year. So far we have been doing reading, kete and writing. My writing group is called Hulk, and my reading group is Wolf.

For writing we have been writing a paragraph about a orangutan, we had as the orangutan. I think I have done very well on this writing project. I think I used proper grammar and punctuation. Natasha has given me some feedback on my writing and I am working towards fixing up my work.

For reading Mr Mitchell has put our weeks tasks on our class website so we can access our work anytime and anywhere considering that the internet is everywhere. We have been focusing on story webs, story maps, and character webs. Every week we have to do a certain number of tasks to have done our work for the week. For example we might have to make a design brief and design a machine to travel through time, make a character web on the main character of the story and rate the story out of 10.

Another one of our must dos each week is the weekly quiz. The weekly quiz consists of around fifteen questions that we either know or have to search on the web. This quiz increases our research skills and teaches us how to search the internet properly. I think that the weekly quiz also gives us some new information each week.

Kete if you didn't know is another word for inquiry, our kete this past 2 weeks is to create either a google slide or a brochure about communities. My friend Shonte and I made a google slide about the Hornby High School community and how to be apart of a community.

I have learnt a lot so far these past few weeks.
